It’s designed for beginners and developing musicians who want hands-on experience in a real recording environment, guided by working engineers and artists.

ForTheRecord is a free community sound and music school inside the studio, more gathering than classroom. Sessions are small, ten people max, and cover whatever keeps music interesting: theory, guitar tone, production basics, deep dives into our favorite YouTube rabbit holes, and conversations about why the music world gatekeeps everything it touches. Anyone can sign up.

Beginners, hobbyists, overthinkers, underachievers, everyone fits. And yes, you can have a couple beers while you learn. It’s relaxed, honest, and built for people who want to understand music a little better without pretending they’re enrolling in a conservatory.
